Amy Morin

Amy Morin, LCSW has worked as a psychotherapist in outpatient and school-based settings since 2002. She also teaches psychology and mental health classes at Kennebec Valley Community College.

Amy provides individual and family therapy at a community mental health center. She also conducts assessments, creates behavior plans, and provides consultation to staff at a junior high school. Her area of specialty is working with children with behavioral issues including oppositional defiant disorder and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. She has led parenting groups to assist parents in learning effective discipline strategies. She has also provided consultation to staff at a head start program and several school departments to establish discipline strategies for children with various behaviors and special needs.

Amy was a therapeutic foster parent for 10 years. Her years as a foster parent provided her with first-hand experience using a variety of discipline methods with children ages 4 to 17 years old.

Amy received her undergraduate degree in social work from the University of Maine at Orono. She earned her master's degree in social work from the University of New England.

I love helping parents find discipline strategies that work for their family. No two kids are alike and what works for one child, may not work for another. Parenting is hard work and I enjoy the challenge of helping caregivers find creative solutions to a variety of behavior problems.
